The Carmel in Lisieux, France has put together a website that tells just about everything you would ever want to know about Saint Thérèse! The following link is a page in that website. It tells the history that led up to the 1956 critical edition of Story of a Soul that we in the English speaking world would have the opportunity to read beginning in 1975 after Father John Clarke's translation work.

Here in Ave Maria, soon after prayerfully making the decision to go through Story of A Soul as our book study for 2024-2025, to our astonishment, an extremely rare and precious copy of the 1956 Autobiographical Manuscript Facsimiles came into our possession. It is truly a wonderful experience to hold in your hands the exact replica notebooks and scraps of paper that were written by Saint Thérèse. Since her death in 1897, her story first told in these notebooks has been read and continues to be read by countless millions of people. We cannot wait to share the facsimiles with you!

"Holiness consists simply in doing God's will, and being just what God wants us to be."
